Terms of Use
Edit as much as you like, but don't remove any credits present. They are the small © symbols. Leave them alone. You may change the color to match your custom palette for your carrd but do not make them invisible or hard to see.
Don't claim as your own work OR use this template as a base for a different template OR use it for any commissions, paid or not. If you use this template, I don't care how much you edit it, go wild, but the credit has to stay intact and you cannot claim it as your own.
Do not use to promote illegal, harmful, or hateful content. No burn books, no hate blogs, no callout blogs, nothing of the sort.
Image Sizing
The banner on the front page is most suited for images at a 3:1 or 2:1 ratio depending on personal preference. It should be at least 1000px wide for best results. (The one that comes with the template is 2000px wide.)
The tall image in the bio section is at a 9:16 ratio. It will also resize based on width. If you make the bio longer, you may want a taller image, or to add another column to the container so it does not outgrow the image too much and make the spacing look weird. The image here will work best with the current spacing if it is at least 450px wide or greater.
If you need help with image sizing, or re-sizing anything / fixing spacing, you're more than welcome to shoot me a message on my blog and I'll try to help when I can.
How to Add More NPCs
The NPCs on the connections page are divided into rows of three. There is a new container for every row to prevent uneven spacing. To add more, you need to duplicate the container as a new one instead of adding to the same one, keeping only to a row of three per container.
Make a copy of the image and description sections and move them into place. There should only be two things to copy per new NPC.
If a row has an empty space with no NPC, click on the container, select the column that is empty (left, middle, or right) and check the box that says "use as spacer". If you have two NPCs in a row instead of three and want them to center, delete the empty column and the other two will adjust automatically. If you need to re-add the column later when adding another NPC, just click "add column" and the sizes should also automatically adjust in that case as well.

001 Communicate with me. Please. We're here to have fun and tell a collaborative story together; if you get bored of what's going on in our scenes, or are more invested in another character or a different scene your own character is in, or just don't feel it anymore, I'd rather hear that than nothing at all, or lies about why you're not interacting anymore. Look, I get it, sometimes life happens or you lose motivation or the spark just isn't there or you thought you were excited for a scene, only to start it and then realize you weren't—I understand completely. No hard feelings, I promise, as long as you just let me know, please! 002 Don't come at me with homophobic/TERF bigotry, racism, classism, underage/animal content, or anything like that. Blocks and reports will be doled out as needed for the sake of my mental health. Especially don't come on up to Kainé and start out with race fetishizing comments like "double-stuffed oreo", "dark honey", and absolutely not "chocolate bunny". I'm sick and tired of racists using my character as an outlet for their fetishes. Full stop: you do this in game, I'm reporting you to the GMs. You do this in a venue, I'm reporting you to the management of that venue. Stop being fucking creeps. 003 IC=/=OOC. If you view your character as an extension of yourself, or have disproportionate out of character/real life reactions to what happens around your character in character, please do not interact. I am not Kainé, and Kainé is not me. I promise I try my best to be friendly and understanding, as long as you extend the same grace to me; Kainé is quiet and takes a bit to open up to people, and generally does not consider most people anything more than acquaintances. If you want an immediate buddy both in and out of character, then neither I nor Kainé are who you want to interact with. 004 As a continuation to the above, if you are ‘in character’ all the time, or if I have a hard time separating your ‘in character’ versus ‘out of character’ voice/tone/delineation, I will very, very likely not interact with you. I have had VERY bad past experiences with people who do this, and so for my own well-being I will not interact with such people again.
005 No metagaming/godmoding/lorebreaking. Any info that you, the writer, get from this carrd does not mean it is okay to bring anything and everything mentioned here up in your character's first walk-up scene with Kainé, or even the tenth. No no-selling any god-like characters, either; if our characters end up fighting, let's see the results of the brawl instead of shrugging it off. I'm more than down for Kainé getting her shit kicked in, as long as she has a fair chance at kicking your character's shit in too. Also, I'm roleplaying in FFX|V because I like the world—if you don't want to keep your roleplay there, then I am not the partner for you. 006 Please be above 25 years of age OOC. I've found that this helps to ensure that OOC communication flows better on both our ends. As Kainé is a character that carries some heavy baggage, I also do not want to enter into such scenes/conversations with younger people who do not have the support, experience, or mental awareness to know whether certain topics or scenes are something they can deal with or not. 007 At the moment I'm mostly using in game RP as a litmus test of sorts to see if our characters are compatible, though I will accept discord roleplay once we've established a working relationship in-game and we've gotten to know each other better. It's a delicate balancing act—but basically: in-game RP is to see if we and our characters are compatible, and if we are, after a while I'll do my best to reach out to you over discord, if you have one. In-game is generally easier for me as well, since it's more 'focused'/has a more definitive start and end. I do plan to have a long, overarching story with Kainé, and so while I am not opposed to one-off scenes/interactions or venue RP, at the end of the day I am looking for more long-term relationships rather than a string of 'chance' meetings that do not end up going anywhere past their own contained interactions. 008 My style preference is for third person limited, present tense, and high separation, though I can adjust within reason if I see that my partner/s is/are more comfortable with past tense. I will not write in second person (you, your, yours) or first person (I, me, mine), nor will I write with others who use those styles in a collaborative but still high-separation space.
009 No immediate ERP/only ERP. I have found that generally people who just start out with ERP as their one and only obvious goal are just using my character to get their rocks off and never plan on interacting with me again, which goes against looking for longer-term RP relationships. This character is also a monogamous character and WILL NOT interact in multiships/polyamory/harems/whatever else you may call it. 010 No isekai'd characters/NPC stand-ins (actually Thancred, Estinien's lost son, the secret love child of Paplymo and Yugiri, actually you in real life but got hit by bus-kun and awoke in Limsa one day, Axel from Kingdom Hearts, et cetera). It's boring, sorry. All the NPC avatar roleplayers I've run into never brought anything new to the characters that I couldn't have gotten from just writing fanfiction of my own character with the character they're (usually) flanderizing. Y'all have fun with the G'rahas and the Hiens and the Haurchefants, you can have them. That's just not what I want to roleplay with in a shared world. Also, again, big on IC/OOC separation—usually I find the isekai-ers don't have that separation and take Kainé being distant to them on first meeting as me saying I hate them, which...well, it wasn't true before, but I'm certainly not going to think we're friends now, either! 011 Generally, in game I am looking for shorter responses, and in discord I am looking for longer responses. However, I am also just as much looking for actionable responses—if your discord response is four paragraphs of your character navel-gazing, without anything for me or Kainé to respond to, I will pull back and let you know OOC that it's something I'd like to address. If it continues, I'll very likely disengage. As an addendum, if I genuinely cannot tell what you are trying to communicate, whether due to grammar/spelling mistakes or just a general inability to ascertain your tone, I will let you know, and disengage if it continues to be an issue as well. 012 If you contact me despite knowing you do not not meet what I am looking for, I reserve the right to cut contact and block without explaining why. I lay all these rules, expectations, and hooks out so that you know what to expect when you contact me; if I'm not getting respect from you about that, I'm going to look after myself first.
CONTENT | FREQUENCY / SEVERITY | PUBLIC / PRIVATE |

hunting | main source of income, will be discussed often | public or private |

Mist Frenzy | will only be brought up in scenes with very trusted partners | private only |
sexual content | will only appear with long-term partners in long-running scenes; monogamous | this will be private, and I will let you know when I am comfortable discussing the possibility. if you push for this against my communication, you ensure that such content will never be brought up with you, and have only yourself to blame |
HOOK | DESCRIPTION | NOTES |
---|---|---|
Hunt The Hunter | Wood-Warders hunt. Occasionally, they may hunt stray Sisters or failed Wood-Warders, if the Golmore Jungle does not take care of these exiles first. Rarer, though, is it to find that there is a bounty on an exile's head...or that a Wood-Warder has accepted said bounty. | This hook requires OOC communication first; it will not happen in public scenes, and will hook into an alt character of mine as well. It will also have to be discord-based to account for said alt character. That's not to say your own Wood-Warder couldn't also wish to take the bounty on her head, however... |
Sick To Death Of Mist And Magicks | Viera are generally oversensitive to Mist; this is common enough knowledge. It would appear, though, that this Viera is even more sensitive than most, shying away from even heightened emotions—especially her own. Even regular magicks beyond what little Ravan conjury she seems to know scare her, and you're not like to see her so much as teleport unless it is truly necessary. More demanding magicks like red magick, or, heavens forbid, thaumaturgy or deep pockets of ambient aether, will have her either incapacitated or worse—Frenzied. | As this ties into the Mist Frenzy content warning, I am not comfortable playing out the darker aspects of this hook in public scenes. You know that scene from FFXII of Fran going berserk on the Leviathan airship? Yeah...think that but times five or ten, as Kainé hasn't allowed herself to build up any immunity to Mist, instead choosing to flee from it whenever able. I generally like to use a dice roll system when this comes up, as it more often than not leads to combat, and my general approach is as follows: PLAYER A writes attemptPLAYER A rolls attack attempt rollPLAYER B rolls defense rollif PLAYER A's attack roll is higher than PLAYER B's defense roll , the attack hits; if PLAYER B's defense roll is higher than PLAYER A's attack roll , the attack missesPLAYER B writes their response and attemptPLAYER B rolls attack attempt roll...and the process repeats! However, I am also not wholly opposed to an honor/whatever goes system, if we've been roleplaying together long enough and I trust you won't go full godmode on me. |
Flowers Do Not Mean Love | If one were to try to woo a skittish Viera, where would one start? Most would think flowers, if you asked this skittish Viera—and she would swiftly and summarily tell one that they were wrong, as one should not harm the earth's ever-living bounty to profess such fleeting emotions. Watch, hang around long enough, and perhaps you'll notice that those she lets close to her heart are there for their actions and how they make her feel, not the gifts they give. | This hook is the romance arc hook—so again, this one will need both OOC and IC work towards it. Also, as it bears insistence, Kainé is monogamous and heterosexual. So if you're looking for someone to join a polyamorous/polyromantic relationship, harem, or any other kind of ethical or non-ethical non-monogamous relationship, Kainé is absolutely not the character you are looking for. I'm also not looking for her to fulfill any kind of fetish/kink role, from racism to breeder fetish to 'horndog savage' kinks. Yes, that means if you come at me with that 'fanon lore' stuff from that one 'fanon consolidated Viera culture' carrd, I'm blocking you immediately. I'm not playing along with someone's patriarchal 'women belong in the kitchen pregnant and barefoot while their feral savage men lose their minds to heat and fuck anything that moves' fetish bait that they're trying to play off as fanon mixed in copiously with their (very loose) 'interpretation' of canon, thanks. |
HOOK | DESCRIPTION | RARITY |
---|---|---|
The Hunt | The woman that stands before you is obviously a hunter, usually with a bow and arrows or a lance at her back. Ask for her help on a hunt, or her protection, and more often than not she shall agree. | Common |
Comfort Food, Comfort Drink | Good tea and a good Hingan (or Golmoran) meal will move this woman's feelings about you ever so slightly toward the positive, should you offer them to her or recommend such. She seems a bit picky about her choice of tea, however. | Common |
Share A Camp For The Night | If you find that your feet have led you farther from civilization than you would like and have need of someone to take first watch so you may rest, you would do worse than sharing your space for the night with this Viera. She can often be found around the Black Shroud, ghosting along the trails more and less traveled to ensure new adventurers are not beset by monsters stronger than they can face. | Common |
Grown Up, But Different | Orphanages are semi-common in Kugane, the surrounding areas sending their war-torn village orphans to the city to either try to make it into any such orphanage, or at least live a better life on the streets of Kugane than they would have lived in fully-destroyed hamlets. The Viera before you stayed in one such orphanage, though her situation is a little different—still, perhaps you know her from a once-orphanage that turned into a textiles shop, when the children were all grown. | Semi-Common |
Far From Home | The Viera has a strange look in her eyes, whenever the Golmore Jungle is mentioned—to say nothing of seeming even more skittish, if that's possible, around any Wood-Warders. | Semi-Common |
The Mist, It Burns | High concentrations of aether set this Viera's ears straight back against her skull, and more often than not she takes off to set great distance between herself and the offending area if she is somehow dragged into a concentration without her knowledge or against her will. | Semi-Common |
Do Not Touch The Wildlife | Skittish as she is, should you draw your weapon and aim it at her, she still will likely try to defend herself in some way—unless you are a Wood-Warder, in which case she will flee, almost falling over herself to escape. | Rare |
Fly High, Freebird | There have been absolutely no reports of a Viera in the Coerthan Western Highlands, or in the Sea of Clouds. Any sightings of a leporine figure being seen with sky pirates wearing red scarves should be reported immediately to the Knights of the Most Heavenly, and then summarily forgotten, any report papers burned. | Rare |
NPCS
AKIRA HAYASHI — The Bokairo innkeeper before his son Ushitora took over the family business, Akira kept meticulous logs of each and every visitor who stayed at the inn—and by doing so helped Kainé choose her last name after her adopted mother helped her choose her first name. Though he has since passed on, Kainé still occasionally visits the Bokairo Inn to visit his son, and take note of the bookkeeping that the Hyuran man continues in his father's stead.
CHIYO HAYASHI — A kind-hearted woman, Chiyo is married to Ushitora and has a young daughter with him. Though she will happily (and truthfully) proclaim that her life is wonderful now should anyone ask her life story while shopping at her stall in the open-air Umineko Teahouse, she was also raised in Aelina's orphanage, her own parents a casualty of the Garlean invasion of Doma. It was there she met Kainé, and the two formed a quiet bond that has lasted through the years.
ANEKO HAYASHI — A kind young girl, and Akira's granddaughter. Her mother runs a tea stall by the Umineko Teahouse while her father works at the Bokairo Inn, and though Aneko usually helps her mother outside in the fresh sea air, occasionally she will beg the Viera who stayed at the same orphanage her mother was raised at to walk her to the inn to see her father.
AELINA ITO — An older Hyuran woman who took Kainé in when the Viera finally reached Kugane. The woman ran a textiles shop that doubled as an orphanage for a long while, before her age finally caught up to her. She helped teach Kainé Eorzean Common, and the Viera owes much of who she is today to the woman kind enough to take in a terrified, inarticulate young woman barely able to stand on her own two feet.
CELINE AUBERLAINT — A young Duskwight woman that Kainé was able to rescue in just the nick of time from a diremite nest, Celine is a conjurer-in-training who skulks around the edges of Issom-Har and Buscarron's Druthers when the animosity of Gridania proper proves to be too much for her. Still, she tries her best to see the best in people, and Kainé's rescue and quiet kindness plays no small part in that, though the Viera does not know that.
PCS
THIS COULD BE YOU... — Or perhaps, this could be us. Who knows? A link to a carrd here, a bio there, maybe even your character's name...if Kainé is willing to put up with them, or they worm their way into her heart. If we've been roleplaying together for some time and have a decent OOC relationship, and you'd like to be here, please don't hesitate to coordinate!
KAINÉ RHAZ

Somewhere deep in the Golmore Jungle is an abandoned Ravan village, reclaimed even more aggressively by the Wood than one would expect even from a Ravan village. If you know how to find it—assuming you are even allowed to—perhaps you may yet spy an old, rotting weapons rack, and notice two vacant spots, conspicuous by their emptiness when surrounded by the decaying weapons still somehow held in their places by the old wood and growing moss.Somewhere in the Black Shroud, there is a small, hidden abode, a day's travel off the beaten path but ever welcoming to those who need rest and attempt to keep kindness within its walls. It is stocked with a plethora of books and no few snacks, meals, and drinks, but few see who restocks it, or when. Still, the food is fresh, the booze is as strong (or weak) as one wishes, and the few cushions make for a decent enough resting place for the night.Somewhere in Shirogane, there was once a small cottage, rough-hewn stone walls cobbled together with perseverance and no small bits of wishing and hope. Once it was a textiles shop, run by an aging Hyuran woman who had no blood relations but made her life richer by taking in those who needed help; after that, it was a small teahouse and bakery, run by one of the woman's adopted children. Now, the doors open no longer, the previous owner having moved to somewhere far away from their previous life. Perhaps across the sea, however, one might find where the owner has made their new nest.Somewhere in Kugane, there is a small pier somewhat close to the lone inn that is welcoming (and even that word is a stretch) to foreigners. On that pier is a tiny stall, old and now unused, but built with love and care, and occasionally the innkeeper, son of an innkeeper, stops by to pay respects with his wife and child on their way home from their tea stall.Somewhere in the Coerthan Highlands...well, you won't find anything there, unless someone really, truly wants you to. And even if they forget occasionally, the snowstorms do more than enough to cover up any stray tracks left behind.
The lone thread connecting all these disparate locations and people stands before you, a Ravan Viera standing at just over 6 fulms and 6 ilms, her black-tipped ears rising another almost fulm above her head. Perhaps you know none of these places, none of these people, and the whispers of them she carries with her means nothing to you. Perhaps you know one of these people, or perhaps you think you know of one of these places.Whatever questions you may have for the figure in front of you may be answered quietly over a mug of tea, if you know how to phrase your questions and how to navigate the landmines of her past so that your queries do not come off as aggressive. Or perhaps she will sniff out your questioning intentions and assume them pitted against her, whether true or not.If you choose to obfuscate your reasons for interacting with the leporine figure that shares a space with you for the night, then do not expect kindness or warmth from the Rava—the scars sprawled across her body speak to an uneasy life, and long years lived against what she wished for herself weigh heavy behind her gaze. There is little kindness there for herself, much less for those she thinks may wish her harm.Ply her with enough high quality loose leaf tea, however, keep coming round and being as friendly as you can be without being overbearing, and perhaps one day you may find you have made a new friend, somewhere along the way, both over many days and simultaneously all at once. It is no effervescent, energetic friendship, but a slow, steady stream, a river of strength and protection when needed, and hoped to be returned in kind. The Viera that stands in front of you stands alone and frightened, waiting for any malice to come her way whether earned or no, but she was not always that way, and yearns to shake off the dark clouds that follow her now.
